FAQs

Here are some answers to some common questions.  Feel free to email us if you have more.

Do I have to be Baptist?

No.  BSM is not just for Baptists, but for all active college students.  BSM is a diverse group of people who first and foremost want to follow Jesus.

How do I join?

Just start coming!  Come to anything and everything you can!  Any college student can be involved in the BSM.  We have undergraduates, graduates, transfers, and international students involved in our ministry.

What happens at your building?

The Baptist Student Center is open Monday-Friday for you to relax, study, meet friends and play games.  We have comfortable couches, ping pong table, foosball table, and a cabinet full of games.  It's a great place to hang out and meet people.  Come on by!

What does missions look like at the BSM?

We love missions!  We do local ministry projects.  We take a mission trip every Christmas and Spring Break.  Every summer, we send our fellow WT students on missions through GoNow Missions

Is the BSM a church?

No. We are a ministry supported by dozens of area churches.  BSM encourages all students to be actively involved in a local church; we never want to take the place of church in anyone's life.  We are supported by Texas Baptist and Amarillo Area Baptist churches.

What kind of things do you do?

We focus on missions, discipleship, and evangelism.  We have something going on nearly every day.  We have large groups, small groups, discipleship, leadership development, and socials.  We're a place for committed Christians and for those investigating the Christian faith.

How can I get more involved?

There are plenty of ways to get involved.  Our ministry is most effective when students lead.  Join a small group, get involved in the various ministry opportunities, apply for summer missions, apply to join a Servant Team or the Leadership Team.  There lots of opportunities.
